Detailed 1-Day Kampala City Tour
Day 1: Kampala City Tour
The day will start with a pick-up from your hotel or residence by the Jackal Adventures guide. Your first stop will be the Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo, a significant religious site. Next, will be a visit to the Baha’i Temple, a peaceful spot where one can enjoy a great view of Kampala.
Following this, you will visit the Uganda Museum to see many exhibits showcasing Uganda’s rich history. Then, you will then have lunch in one of the best local restaurants where you can try some of the Ugandan delicacies like Luwombo.
After lunch, the 1-Day Kampala City Tour will resume with a visit to the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage site and burial place for the kings of Buganda Kingdom. You will then proceed to the Kabaka’s Palace in Mengo to learn about the history of the Buganda Kingdom.
Your next stop will be the Gaddafi Mosque in Old Kampala, the country’s national mosque. You’ll also have the chance to shop for souvenirs at a crafts center during the tour.
If time permits, you may include visits to Rubaga Cathedral, Owino Market, Nakasero Market, and the Independence Monument. Later in the evening, you will be driven back to the hotel or residence by your guide in the evening.
